Made in Shropshire using traditional techniques, the Netherton Foundry Black Iron Skimmer is a beautifully crafted kitchen essential designed to last a lifetime. Hand-spun from durable black iron and pre-seasoned with organic flax oil, it’s ready to use straight away and develops an even better natural finish with regular cooking.

Perfect for lifting poached eggs, removing vegetables from boiling water, skimming stocks or straining chips from hot oil, the shallow perforated spoon offers excellent control while allowing liquids to drain away quickly. The solid iron handle feels reassuringly sturdy in the hand, while the brass rivet adds the signature finishing touch synonymous with Netherton Foundry craftsmanship. Suitable for high cooking temperatures and completely free from synthetic coatings or plastics, this is a utensil built for everyday use and generations of home cooking.

Care instructions: Never clean the cast, black or spun iron bowl, lid or pan in a dish washer. Don’t place, when hot into very cold water. This might cause it crack or warp. After use, clean the bowl with a stiff plastic brush and hot water.
